MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State women's basketball team has added Breayah Jefferson to its roster for the 2026-27 season.

Jefferson, a 5-6 guard from Toledo, Ohio, comes to Morehead State from Monroe University in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was named an NJCAA Division I Honorable Mention All-American last season.

She appeared in 17 games for Monroe, making 16 starts averaging 25.2 minutes per game. She led the Mustangs averaging 18 points per game and was tied for second on the team with 50 steals.

"Bre is an elite competitor and an outstanding person, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our program," said Morehead State Head Coach Jackie Alexander.  "She is a dynamic scorer with the ability to take over games offensively, while also bringing relentless energy and commitment on the defensive end. Her passion, toughness, and love for the game will make an immediate impact on our culture and success."

Jefferson set a school record February 19 at Lackawanna College, with 50 points. She hit 19 of 53 from the floor, including seven of 29 from three-point range.  She had five games last season scoring 20 or more points. She shot 45 percent from the field on the season.

Prior to last season, Jefferson played a season at St. Clair Community College (Mich.). She appeared in 34 games for the Skippers, making 33 starts averaging 34.3 minutes per game. She averaged 22.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. She shot 49 percent from the floor and finished the season with 78 steals.

"After spending time on campus and getting to know the coaching staff, I knew Morehead was where I wanted to be," said Jefferson. "The coaches made me feel comfortable and supported from the start, and the environment genuinely felt welcoming. I'm very thankful and excited for this opportunity to grow as both a student and an athlete."

Jefferson attended Rogers High School in Toledo.
