7/1/2026 2:00:00 PM

Morehead, Ky.-- Allyson Moorman has joined the Morehead State indoor and beach volleyball staffs for the upcoming academic year.

Moorman joins the Eagle staff after two seasons as the head coach at Oakland City University (Ind.) of the NAIA River States Conference. Before taking the helm at Oakland City, she spent two years at Webber International University (Fla.), the second season as head coach.

"I'm excited to welcome Allyson to our coaching staff," said Morehead State head coach Kyrsten Becker-McBride. "She brings valuable head coaching experience, but what stood out most throughout the hiring process was how closely her values align with our program."

"Allyson is passionate about creating an outstanding experience for our student-athletes and believes in doing what's best for them every day," added Becker-McBride.  "She understands that coaching is much more than X's and O's, it's about helping to develop and impact the young women in our program.   She has a genuine eagerness to continue growing as a coach, and to merge her past experiences with our style at Morehead State.  I'm excited to have her in the gym this fall and in the sand this spring!

People who thrive at Morehead State understand the importance of investing in our community, and Allyson is excited to do that.  She will be a great representative of our program on and around campus, and wear the blue and gold with pride."

Prior to her tenure at WIU, Moorman spent six years coaching at the club and high school level in Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at Rio Grande (Ohio) and a Master of Science in Sports Administration at the University of Cincinnati in 2021.

"I am so honored and excited to be joining Kyrsten and Jason this year," said Moorman. "I'm grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to get to work with this incredible program. When I came to visit campus, it felt like home. I am so thankful for everyone that helped me get to this point. I'm ready for this new journey!"

Morehead State will open its season with an exhibition match at home against Northern Kentucky August 21. The Eagles open the regular season August 28 versus Fairfield in Knoxville, Tenn. The Eagles then will face the host Tennessee Volunteers and close out the opening weekend Knoxville August 30 against Colgate.
