MOREHEAD, Ky. – Four transfers and five freshmen are joining Morehead State head coach
Paul Cox's women's soccer program. The group hails from seven states and includes three Kentuckians. It also features players at every position but is significantly smaller than last year's recruits, which featured 16 players.
You could call the group, the "A Team", since the first letter of the first name of six of the nine begins with an A.
"I'm happy with our class. This is the smallest class we've had since I've been here, which is a good sign," Cox said. "Each player brings something different to our roster. (It) strengthens our squad and gives us great depth."
The four transfers enrolled in January and participated in the spring season, when the team finished 2-1-2.
Highlighting the newcomers are a pair of goalkeepers, which will be critical since no one from the 2025 roster who participated in a regular-season game returns this year.
Redshirt sophomore
Allie Lammers earned third-team all-conference honors at Evansville last fall after posting a 6-4-2 record, with a 1.00 goals-against average, 46 saves, a 0.793 save percentage and five shutouts in 13 games as the Purple Aces finished with a 7-7-2 record. Her GAA tied for 95th nationally and ranked fourth in the conference. She also finished the 2025 campaign sitting third in the league in shutouts per game (0.38), tied for fifth in shutouts, sixth in saves per game (3.54) and save percentage, and tied for eighth in total saves. She also earned a league-best three Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors (becoming Evansville's first netminder to claim three such awards since 2014) and was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators. In her first season at UE, she did not play.
Lammers graduated from Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati, where she helped her team to capture the 2021 Class AAA state championship as a sophomore. That squad posted a 22-0-1 record. The Cougars won three Girls Greater Catholic League titles, four district championships and earned berths in three regional finals during her career. She was named first-team all-state as a senior and second-team all-state as a sophomore. In addition, Lammers was a two-time league all-star and named to the 2023 National Goalkeepers to Watch list. She played club soccer for Ohio Elite, which qualified for the national tournament twice.
Freshman goalkeeper
Amira Hendrick played for national powerhouse Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Ky., where she was a teammate of current MSU sophomore defender/midfielder
Addison Petry. The Valkyries won back-to-back state titles with Hendrick in the net. As a senior, she notched a 0.4 GAA, averaging 3.8 spg, with eight shutouts over 25 games, earning first-team all-state honors. In her junior campaign, she registered a 0.4 GAA, with 2.7 spg and three shutouts in 24 appearances. She played eight games as a sophomore and 23 games as a freshman, with the latter year posting 0.4 GAA, 2.3 spg and nine shutouts. Over her career, Sacred Heart tallied an 88-10-6 record, including a 24-2-1 mark in 2025 and 24-1-2 mark in 2024. The 2025 Valkyries were ranked ninth nationally by the United Soccer Coaches and 19th by MaxPreps. They also appeared in the top 20 in 2024. Hendrick played club soccer for Racing Louisville FC.
Sophomore midfielder
Aynslea Ulschmid was a high school teammate of sophomore defender and 2025 All-Ohio Valley Conference newcomer
Faith Peper. Ulschmid played her freshman season at Northern Iowa, where she saw action in 16 competitions, starting 11 times, for a total of 875 minutes. She scored once and took 21 shots, including nine on net. UNI finished 4-9-3 last season.
At Mahtomedi High School outside of Minnesota's Twin Cities, Ulschmid earned two all-state honors (first team in 2023 and second team in 2024), as well as two all-conference accolades. She also made two all-state tournament teams (2022 and 2024), helping lead the Zephyrs to state titles in 2021 and 2024, and a runner-up finish in 2022. Mahtomedi also won four conference championships and two section crowns during her career. MHS posted a 17-2-1 record in her senior year and a 60-10-3 mark over her four seasons. A two-year starter, she finished with 29 goals and 20 assists over her four seasons. She also played ice hockey at the school for three years. She played for St. Croix Academy and the Salvo Soccer Club on the club circuit.
Junior forward/midfielder
Ashton Lynam played two seasons at Western Kentucky before transferring to MSU. A native of Henderson, Ky., she was a member of the Henderson County Lady Colonels from 2020-23. At WKU, she played in 25 matches, starting three and tallied two goals and one assist on eight shots. As a freshman, she was named to the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll and earned the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
At Henderson County, she led the Lady Colonels to three consecutive state tournament berths in her final three seasons, with the squad posting a 49-23-10 record during that time. HCHS also won three regional titles and four district crowns. The 2021 club's semifinal appearance was the farthest it had advanced in its history. As a freshman, her squad finished 8-2 and fell in the regional championship. Over her career, she tallied 142 goals (becoming the second ever at the school to surpass 100) and collected 49 assists for 333 points, starting all 82 games in which she played. A two-time First-Team All-State selection, she earned all-region honors from her sophomore through senior years and was an all-district choice all four seasons. In addition, Lynam was a second-team all-state pick as a sophomore. She was named to the state all-tournament team twice and the United Soccer Coaches Association All-Region Team in 2023. A member of the Indiana Fire Academy South squad for seven years, the team was a finalist at the 2021 Indiana State Cup. She also played three seasons with FC Spirit. Academically, she was an all-state selection in 2022, while also earning four all-district honors.
Sophomore defender
Kennedy Harmon joins the Eagles after one season at High Point. As a freshman, she played in 12 games and took two shots in 255 minutes. A native of Georgetown, Ky., the Scott County High School graduate earned all-region honors three times, including a spot on the second team as a senior, and as an honorable mention pick as a junior and a sophomore. During her career at SCHS, she scored 46 goals and tallied 38 assists for 130 points over 75 games for a team that posted a 38-27-10 overall record. Her best two statistical seasons came in her final two as she finished with 14 goals and 14 assists as a senior and 17 goals and five assists as a junior. She also tallied 13 assists as a freshman. She split her time on the club circuit playing for the Georgetown Football Club and the Lexington Sporting Club. LSC won the state title in 2022.
Freshman defender
Aniya Harriott hails from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, she helped her team capture the Class 6A State championship and a No. 5 national ranking her senior year, as well as finish as the state runner-up as a junior. The Raiders won at least 70 percent of their games each season in which she was in school, including posting a 23-2-1 mark as a senior and a 19-2-3 record as a junior, finishing 69-13-8 overall. She earned Broward County 7A-5A Honorable Recognition in both 2024-25 and 2025-26, and played in the Broward County All-Star Classic as a senior. She also played one season of flag football as a sophomore.
Harriott also has international experience, representing the Jamaican U18 National Team at the 2025 UEFA Friendship Cup, where she competed against Finland, Tanzania and Lebanon. She scored a penalty kick in Jamaica's overtime shootout win over Thailand. She played her club soccer for FC Prime ECNL G08. Over 11 seasons with that team, it won back-to-back ECNL Southeast Conference championships in 2024-25 and 2025-26, qualified for the ECNL playoffs three straight years and advanced to the ECNL nationals in 2025-26. She was a four-year Principal's Honor Roll student.
The 5-foot-10
Kendall Anderson will bring size to the front line and midfield. A freshman from Winfield, W.Va., and Hurricane High School, she scored 57 goals and had 38 assists for 150 points over 63 career games. A four-year starter, her biggest statistical season came in her junior year, when she tallied 24 goals and had nine assists for 2.9 points per game, and was tabbed as the Region IV Player of the Year. As a senior, while serving as the team captain, she recorded 17 goals, a career-best 12 assists for 46 points. She also had double-digit assists (10) as a sophomore, while also scoring 12 goals. She was named first-team all-state, all-region and all-conference as both a junior and a senior. In 2023, she earned second-team all-state, first-team all-region and first-team all-conference honors for HHS, which won its conference and placed second in the sectional. Hurricane also won its conference title and finished second in the sectional in 2022, and was the conference runner-up in 2024. In addition, she played basketball for the school for three seasons, earning second-team all-state recognition as a junior and honorable mention all-state accolades as a sophomore. As a junior, her team won its conference championship. She played for the Charleston Clash (08G) and Eastern Elite Soccer Academy (07G) during her career. The Clash won three West Virginia State Cups from 2021-23, while EESA won the Kentucky State Cup three times. Anderson also was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and several clubs in high school. She graduated from Hurricane with a 4.1 GPA.
Freshman forward
Ashlyn Francis starred for Castle High School in Newburgh, Ind., where she started all four years and also earned Academic/Athletic All-State honors each season. As a senior, she scored two goals, playing in just five games because of an injury, but earned the Kiwanis' Mental Attitude Award. As a junior, Francis really stood out, helping the Knights to a 16-3-2 record and an appearance in the regionals. She scored nine goals and had five assists that season and earned all-conference honors. As a sophomore, she had 11 goals and nine assists for a team that won the sectional title, its conference championship and advanced to the regionals. Over her final three seasons, the squad compiled a 41-12-3 record. She also played for FC Pride and Indy Eleven. At FC Pride, she earned two all-conference honors and competed with the team at the 2023 and 2024 nationals.
Freshman forward/midfielder
Gaia Fubelli comes to MSU from Culver City, Calif., after playing two seasons at Wiseburn-Da Vinci Science High School. Fubelli gained most of her experience playing for the FRAM soccer club, the same organization that produced Eagle sophomore
Hailey Repreza.
At WDVSHS, Fubelli tallied seven goals as a freshman and earned the team's Rookie of the Year and Captain's Choice Award. She also was a member of the team as a sophomore. As a junior, she participated on the Wolves' track and field team, primarily as a 200-meter/400-meter dash runner, helping set the school record in the 4x400-meter relay. In 2016, she was a school district cross country champion. With FRAM, she was a Developmental Player League U16 National Champion, a U13 State Cup finalist and a U12 State Cup champ. She also has trained with AS Roma U19 and Chelsea FC U18, plus was the captain of a travel team that competed in the Gothia Cup in Sweden. The multi-faceted Fubelli also has a junior black belt in Kung Fu San Soo.
Sophomore defender
Faith Peper, a 2025 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team member, headlines the 17 returnees from last year's club that finished 3-13-2 overall, and 1-6-2 and in ninth place in the OVC. Six starters are back, but the club will need to replace nine individuals.
Morehead State began preseason camp on Monday, July 20. The team's first exhibition game is on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Chicago State. The season begins on Thursday, Aug. 13 at Marshall. The home opener is three days later against Brescia (Ky.).
