Morehead, Ky.-- The Morehead State volleyball team opens the 2026 season in Knoxville, Tennessee in Thompson-Bowling Arena at the Food City Center with a trio of games in the Tennessee Tournament.
Morehead State will open the tournament Friday afternoon when it takes on Fairfield. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET. Saturday, the Eagles will take on the host Tennessee Volunteers at 1:00 p.m. ET. That match can be watched on SEC+ Network. Sunday, the Eagles wrap up the weekend taking on Colgate. First service is set for noon.

NOTABLES
- Morehead State is heading into its 55th season of competition in 2026. The Eagles have an all-time record of 1099-706-7. MSU has finished above .500 in 44 of those campaigns. The Eagles have notched 20+ wins in 34 seasons.
- The record for most wins in a season was set in 1977, when Morehead State posted a record of 39-11 under Laradean Brown. In the modern era, the 2013 team posted a record of 27-8 under the tutelage of Dr. Jamie Gordon. (Gordon is the winningest coach in any sport at MSU) Gordon is now the CEO of the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
- In Ohio Valley Conference play, Morehead State is 448-228. They have finished above .500 in conference play in 31 of 42 seasons.
- Morehead State head coach Kyrsten Becker-McBride is in her fourth season as head coach and her 16th season with the program. She has a record of 59-37 overall and a 38-16 conference record. She has guided her team to the OVC tournament finals twice and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2024.
- Morehead State led the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 13.77 kills per set last season. OVC Player of the Year M.E. Hargan led the way with 493 terminations, averaging 4.61 per set.
- The Eagles also topped the OVC with 193 service aces averaging 1.80 aces per set. Amelia Nott smacked 44 aces, averaging 0.41 aces per set. She ranked third in the OVC last fall, and that tally is tied for second-most in the program history in the modern era.
- MSU paced the OVC allowing a league-low 1.36 opponent aces per set.
- Morehead State's .250 hitting percentage also led the OVC last fall. Nott led the Eagles with a .350 attack percentage, which was the second highest in the OVC and the seventh-highest efficiency in program history. Nott was selected to the All-OVC Second Team.
- Nott's name dots the MSU record book in several categories for the modern era: her 115 career aces are tied for second with Lindsey Roth (2010-13), her 256 block assists and 288 total blocks both rank eighth. Her .289 career hitting percentage is second only Irene Wogenstahl, who posted a career .291 hitting percentage from 2020-24.
- Senior setter Sydney Sennett was an All-OVC First Team selection last season after posting 1,089 assists in the 2025 campaign. Her 10.18 assists per set rate ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference.
- Sennett has 2,022 career assists, which ranks eighth in program history for the modern, 25-point rally scoring era.
- Senior outside hitter Hollan Everett was an All-OVC Second Team selection in 2025. She was second on the team last season with 335 kills, averaging 3.13 kills per set, which ranked 10th in the OVC last season.
- Everett also ranked 10th in the OVC averaging 3.52 points per set.
- Everett has slammed 835 career kills, 33 shy of 10th in the MSU record book for the modern era.
- Everett tallied 62 total blocks last season. Her 21 block solos led MSU and tied for 10th-most in the modern era. She has 39 career block solos, sixth-most in the modern era in program history.
- Senior Courtney Fitzgerald led the Eagles last season with 456 digs. Her 989 career digs rank eighth in program history in the modern era.
SCOUTING THE STAGS
- Fairfield posted a 25-6 overall record and nearly ran the tables in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference last season, posting a 17-1 conference record, winning the Metro Atlantic regular season and capturing the Patriot League Tournament title with a sweep over Rider. The Stags season ended with a first-round loss at 17th-ranked Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Minneapolis.
- The Stags were picked to top the Metro Conference standings in preseason balloting of the conference's coaches and media coordinators.
- Senior right-side Mamie Krubally is a two-time All-Metro Conference First Team selection and was named the preseason Metro Conference Player of the Year earlier this month. Last season, Krubally led the Stags with 314 kills, averaging 2.91 kills per set and posted a .303 hitting percentage.
- Senior middle Maya Walker is also a two-time All-Metro First Team pick. Last season, she tied for the team lead with 126 total blocks and led the Stags with 17 block solos. She added 221 kills averaging 1.99 kills per set while posting a Metro Conference-leading .417 attack efficiency.
- Sophomore right side Emma Bortolotti was a Metro All-Rookie Team selection last season after slamming 235 kills, averaging 2.37 kills per set and posting a .312 hitting percentage.
SCOUTING THE VOLS
- Tennessee posted a 20-8 overall record in 2025 and a 10-5 mark in Southeastern Conference play. The Vols went 1-1 in the SEC tournament in Savannah, Georgia last November with a 3-1 win over Florida and a 1-3 loss to eventual national runner-up Kentucky. The Vols' season ended with a five-set loss to Utah State in Tempe, Arizona in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
- Transfer Nia Hall led South Carolina with 273 kills averaging 3.07 kills per set last season. Prior to her lone season with the Gamecocks, she spent two seasons at Cleveland State. In 2024, she was named to the First Team All-Horizon Team after slugging 397 kills and posting 85 total blocks and 18 service aces.
- Southern Methodist transfer Kennedi Rogers was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team last season after recording 175 kills, averaging 2.73 kills per set. She appeared in 64 sets across 22 matches and made seven starts.
- Redshirt senior setter Caroline Kerr is a two-time AVCA All-American Honorable Mention candidate and was an All-SEC First Team selection last season after posting 945 assists averaging 9.84 assists per set. She surpassed the 3,000 career assists mark last season, becoming the seventh Vol to reach the 3K milestone.
- Junior middle Chelsea Sutton started all 28 of the Vols' matches last season, posting 116 total blocks (third-most on the team), adding 215 kills and posting a .362 hitting percentage ranking in the top five in the SEC in 2025.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
- Last season, Colgate posted an 18-10 overall record and a 13-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Raiders' season ended with a five-set loss to Army in the Patriot League Tournament.
