YORKTOWN, Ind. -- In a field with 91 players, Morehead State women's golf saw four finish in the top 20 as the Eagles carded a third-place showing at Ball State's Brittany Kelly Classic this week.
The Eagles had rounds of 297-289-304 for a team score of 890, over the par-72, 6,291-yard Players Club @ Woodland Trails.
Senior
Isabella Wiley highlighted the Eagles' lineup, fashioning an eighth-place finish. Wiley carded 71-72-76--219. Junior
Kerri-Anne Cook had her best Eagle finish, coming in 13th at 74-74-75--223, while sophomore
Morgan Kennedy also got into the top 20 at 20th with a 77-71-77--225. Sophomore
Margaret Ulrich rounded out the top four for MSU as she laid down a 77-72-76--225 total.
Junior
Meri Illamola was the Eagles' fifth lineup player, coming in a respectable 30th at 75-76-77--28.
A pair of freshmen,
Tepan Ngamkerdsiri and
Kenzie Federspiel, each saw their first collegiate action. A two-under 70 in the final round showed Ngamkerdsiri's potential as she finished 33rd at 81-81-70--232. Federspiel carded 78-84-77--239.
Host Ball State navigated its home course to an easy win, shooting an 858 to come in 28 strokes ahead of second place Campbell. BSU's Taykor Larkins was the medalist at 214 for the two-day event.
MSU will return to action and return to Indiana in two weeks at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Classic
