Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State volleyball team was swept 3-0 (17-25, 15-25, 20-25) by Lindenwood Friday evening in Ellis T. Johnson Arena in Morehead, Ky.
 
Morehead State (4-7, 0-1) was led by Amelia Nott, who finished with 10 kills posting a.562 hitting percentage. Ella Warrick added eight kill and Kylie Sharp added seven.
 
Lindenwood (11-2, 1-0) was led by freshman Lauren Ortwerth with 12 kills while posting a .400 attack efficiency. Susanna Beretti and Ashley Geluck added 10 terminations apiece for the Lions.
 
In the opening set, Lindenwood took an early 7-2 lead and used a four-point run to gain separation at 18-11 and closed out the set with another four-point run. The Lions' attack was paced by Beretti with five kills. Warrick paced the Eagles with six terminations in the opening frame.
 
The second set was closely contested with five tied scored and three lead changes through the opening stages. Lindenwood ran off eight straight points to take a 14-8 lead and closed out the second frame with a 4-0 run to go ahead 2-0 in the match. Lindenwood was led by Ortwerth and Geluck with six kills apiece and the Lions posted a .308 hitting percentage, while Morehead State posted a .125 efficiency.
 
The third set was closely contested through the middle stages of the frame, with seven tie scores. A pair of Lion 3-0 runs put Lindenwood on top 21-16 and the Lions closed out the match with a final three point run.
 
Morehead State and Lindenwood will face off Saturday at 2:00 p.m. ET in Johnson Arena. The game can be seen on ESPN+.
