Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State volleyball team was swept by Lindenwood 3-0 (21-25, 19-25, 15-25) Saturday in Ellis T. Johnson Arena in Morehead, Ky.
 
Morehead State (4-8, 0-2) was led by Hollan Everett with 12 kills. Jose Certa posted her second career double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.
 
Lindenwood (12-2, 2-0) ran its winning streak to six straight matches and was led by Susanna Beretti with 15 kills while hitting .314.
 
The opening set was tightly contested with 13 ties and four lead changes. After Morehead State took a 15-13 into the technical timeout and the teams tied the score at 18-18, Lindenwood ran off three straight points to push the lead to 21-18. The Eagles held off two set points before falling 25-21. Beretti led the Lions with six kills in the opening set and posted a team attack percentage of .303 while holding MSU to a .222 efficiency. Everett lead the Morehead State attack with six kills.
 
Lindenwood got a seven-point run early in the second set to take a 9-2 lead and the Eagles were never able to close the gap in falling in the second set. Beretti paced the Lions with five kills in the frame as Lindenwood posted a .282 hitting percentage. Ella Warrick led MSU with four kills in the set.
 
Another long Lindenwood run in the third set proved to be the difference in the final set. After MSU tied the score at 10-10 on a kill by sophomore Kylie Sharp, the Lions went on a 12-0 run to all but clinch the match.
 
Morehead State returns to play next weekend as the Eagles travel to UT Martin for matches Friday and Saturday. First serve Friday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Both matches next weekend are scheduled to be aired on ESPN+.
