Jordan McPherson

Jordan McPherson, an all-conference pitcher when she played at the University of Nevada, has joined the Morehead State softball coaching staff.

McPherson will work with the Eagle pitchers and catchers.

She lettered four years at Nevada and was named First-Team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in 2008, her senior year. She picked up a marquee win when the Wolfpack defeated top-ranked Arizona. In 2007, she earned two WAC Pitcher of the Week awards and hurled the program’s first no-hitter.

In 2006, she helped Nevada win its first WAC tournament championship by pitching all 41 innings in the tournament. For her efforts, she was named the tournament Most Valuable Player. That season, she set the school record for strikeouts with 246 and was named Second-Team All-WAC.

McPherson began giving personal pitching lessons for youth in 2003 and has continued to do so. Currently residing in Lexington, Ky., she has also worked with the Head Start program at KinderCare.

A native of Simi Valley, Calif., she was a standout pitcher on the Royal High School softball team. She graduated Nevada in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with an emphasis on psychology and human development/family studies.
