Mike Simmons

Mike Simmons is in his second year as an assistant football coach at Morehead State after serving as a student assistant coach in 2010.  He works with the cornerbacks and all aspects of special teams.

Simmons has held a variety of roles in three seasons with the Eagles.  Focusing on both sides of the ball, he previously worked with the defensive backfield and special teams.

Prior to arriving at MSU, Simmons spent one year as the quarterbacks coach at Harrisonburg High School (Va.).  Duties at his hometown high school ranged from QB development and offensive play calling to special teams work.  He also assisted in player development, academic support and weight training.

Simmons earned a bachelor's degree from Emory & Henry College (Va.) in 2008.  He is currently working on a master's degree at MSU.  Simmons earned four letters at quarterback for the Wasps from 2005-08.
