Trip Rogers, who spent the five seasons as head coach at NAIA member Midway College (Ky.), is in his fifth year as the soccer assistant at Morehead State. He joined the Eagles in February of 2015.
Rogers led the Midway Eagles from 2010-14. He directed several areas, such as game/practice scheduling, conditioning, scouting, budgeting and staff management. His program became known as a campus leader in student retention, team grade point average and community service.
Rogers was as an assistant coach at NAIA member Georgetown College (Ky.) in 2008 and 2009. His responsibilities with the Tigers included team training sessions and recruiting. He worked directly with goalkeepers and put together the program's off-season strength and fitness programs.
A native of Lexington, Ky., Rogers graduated from Bryan Station High School in 1991 and earned a bachelor's degree from Kentucky in 2003. He returned to his alma mater, Bryan Station, as an assistant girls soccer coach from 2003-05 and was promoted to head coach for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Rogers has worked with the Bluegrass Soccer Club since 2007 and served as its director of coaching for girls ages 14 and under. He was also a coach for the Kentucky Olympic Development program from 2007-12. Rogers has in-depth experience with training and technical development.
Rogers and his wife, Jill, have one son, Chance. Their son is a baseball player at Hanover College, an NCAA Division III program in Southeastern Indiana.
