Alex DelPiombo

Alex DelPiombo is in her second year on the Morehead State coaching staff following a four-year career at Gannon (Pa.) University. She serves as the operations manager.

She served as director of operations in 2012, where she handled a majority of the video work for the Eagles as well as served in a variety of other day-to-day support roles. She helped guide the Eagles to a conference-record 24-match winning streak and the team's third straight Ohio Valley Conference title.

She helped MSU earn another OVC championship ring in 2013 and was part of the second Eagle team to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

DelPiombo was a recipient of a 2011 American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches4Coaches Scholarship.

DelPiombo was the starting setter her final two seasons at Gannon and was team captain for two seasons as well. She finished her career with 1,754 assists to rank seventh in school history. DelPiombo also helped guide Gannon to three NCAA Tournament berths

She was a four-time winner of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete award during her career and was a member of the school's Dean's List four times.

She graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in communications.

A native of Monroe, Mich., she attended St. Mary's Catholic Central High School where she was a two-sport (volleyball, softball) star. DelPiombo led her volleyball team to the state title her junior season.
