Greg Goral

Greg Goral is in his fourth year on staff at Morehead State. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in February 2011.

Prior to MSU, Goral was at Auburn for two seasons, helping the 2006 team to the highest win total since 2000. Before his time at Auburn, Goral was an assistant coach at Division I Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University, and University of Rhode Island.

In his first four seasons at MSU, the Eagles have won three OVC regular season titles and more than 20 matches all four years. MSU has gone 52-2 in OVC matches in Goral's last three seasons.

Goral was instrumental in guiding Eastern Washington to a 23-9 record in 2005. He also helped Rhode Island to a pair of top echelon conference finishes in 2002 and 2003. He began his collegiate coaching experience at Springfield College in Massachusetts. Goral helped coach the women to a second place finish in 2000 and a regular season New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference title in 2001.

As an assistant for the men in 2001, the program won both the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Division III title and the Molten Division III National Championship. As the head women's junior varsity coach, he led the program to its first-ever undefeated season in 2000 and an 8-2 mark in 2001. He also has coaching experience outside the college realm.

Goral spent the summer of 2001 as an intern for USA Volleyball. He helped run the Junior Olympic Championships, the World League and helped with the promotion and marketing of USA Volleyball. He also earned his USAV CAP level II accreditation while in Colorado.

He was an outstanding player as well. He co-founded and was the setter on the Carroll (Wis.) College men's volleyball club team. He was also an all-conference swimmer, and a member of the Pioneer tennis and footballprograms. In addition, Goral has coached several junior programs, including the Spokane (Wash.) Splash, the Rhode Island Juniors Club and at the USAV NERVA Girls High Performance Camp.

He earned a bachelor's degree in 1996 from Carroll College and completed his master's degree at Springfield College in 2002.

Goral was married in 2011 to the former Stephanie J. Lewallen of Ashland, Ky. They reside in Morehead.
