Junior guard Angelo Warner of the men's basketball team has been named this week’s Male Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week.
Warner was also named Ohio Valley Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the period of Feb. 3-9 after scoring a career-high 33 points in Saturday's 86-79 victory at rival Eastern Kentucky.
Warner, a 6-foot-2 guard, connected on 10-of-15 from the field, 3-of-6 from three-point range and all 10 of his free-throw attempts in the nationally-televised game on ESPNU.Â
Warner has reached double figures 52 times in 89 career games and the 20-point mark on 10 occasions. The Orlando native also ranks in the OVC's top 10 for minutes played (3rd, 35.0), steals (4th, 1.9), scoring (6th, 17.6) and free-throw percentage (T-6th, .818).
It is the fourth honor of the season for Warner.
