Junior pitcher Tanna Seuferer of the softball team has been named this week’s Female Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week.

Seuferer helped the Eagles earn a pair of wins last week, as she went all eight innings in a 1-0 victory over Tennessee State. She then entered the game two with the bases loaded and forced a groundout to keep the 3-2 lead.

She retired 10 straight TSU batters to finish the nightcap, where which she picked up the win in relief. Sueferer has not allowed a run in 21.1 innings, or an earned run in her last 31.1. Opponents also hit just .195 against her in 11.1 innings of work.

It is the second time in as many weeks that Seuferer has received the honor.
