Gruenschlaeger Named OVC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State freshman middle blocker Annie Gruenschlaeger has been honored as this week's Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Gruenschlaeger tied a school single-match record with 10 block assists in a 3-1 win over Eastern Kentucky. She returned the next night to add six blocks in the 3-0 win against SIU Edwardsville.

For the year, she has 129 total blocks and 108 block assists. She ranks first in the OVC in blocks and in the top 20 nationally.
