Tuesday's Baseball Game Location Changed; Eagles Take on #25 Kentucky in Lexington

Live Stats | Game Notes

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Due to poor playing conditions at Allen Field in Morehead, Morehead State and Kentucky have moved Tuesday’s afternoon game, which was originally scheduled to be MSU’s home opener, to Cliff Hagen Stadium in Lexington. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.

Kentucky enters the game on a six-game winning streak and have moved into the national polls, earning a #25 ranking in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll. Chris Bisson leads a Kentucky offense that averages over seven runs per game. Bisson is one of five Wildcats currently hitting over .300 and leads the team with a .385 batting average. Bisson also leads UK in home runs (2) and RBIs (10).
The Eagles are coming off a 2-2 weekend at the UNC Wilmington Hughes Brothers Challenge. MSU dropped the first two games of the tournament to Liberty and UNCW, before rebounding to take a pair of victories over Lehigh.

Taylor Davis, #J.D. Ashbrook and Drew Lee# lead MSU at the plate, each hitting over .350 on the season. Lee also leads the team in home runs (4) and RBIs (11), while Ashbrook leads the team in on-base percentage (.488) and has jacked three home runs of his own.

Morehead State coach Jay Sorg will turn to redshirt sophomore Josh Schneider on the mound. The righty is coming off two injury plagued seasons and is looking to turn things around in 2010. Schneider will be making his first start of the season, but has made four appearances out of the bullpen.

After Tuesday’s game, MSU will play its first home series of 2010; a four-game set with Buffalo starting Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Allen Field.
