MEMPHIS, Tenn.— Former Morehead State men’s golfer Josh Teater finished tied for 15th at the PGA Tour Event the St. Jude’s Classic at TPC Southwood. Teater shot a four-under 276 (66-71-70-69) for his fourth Top 25 finish this season, his first full season on the PGA Tour.
Teater collected $76,272 for shooting 12 birdies and 53 pars in the four-round tournament. His best round was the first round, when he shot a four-under 66. He was plus-one in Friday’s second round and even after the third round. He re-gained his four-under standing with a minus-one in Sunday’s final round.
Teater has played in 18 events this season and made 11 cuts. Sunday’s 15-place finish was his third best of the season. A native of Lexington, Ky., he helped the Eagles claim the 1999 OVC Men’s Golf Championship with an All-Tournament performance. Teater turned pro after finishing his MSU career in 2001.
