MOREHEAD, Ky. – Former Morehead State standout pitcher Henry Mabee has been named to the Peoria Saguaros Arizona Fall League Team. The fall league is reserved for top prospects in professional baseball.
A native of Surrey, BC, Mabee pitched in 47 games for the Double-A Birmingham Barons and was 3-6 with a 3.86 ERA and 60 strikeouts.
In 2009, he was 6-3 with a 3.30 ERA and nine saves. In 2008, Mabee posted a 3-1 record with 20 saves and a 2.90 ERA in 55 games played. He spent all of 2008 in Class A, first with the Kannapolis Intimidators before advancing to Winston-Salem. He earned a spot on the South Atlantic League midseason All-Star Team.
A right-handed pitcher, Mabee was a 19th-round draft pick for the Chicago White Sox in June 2007. He played just two seasons at MSU after transferring from Trinidada State Junior College. He posted a 4.31 ERA in two years, leading the Eagles each year.
