Soccer Prepared for OVC Home Matches

MOREHEAD, Ky
. – The Morehead State soccer team returns to Jayne Stadium for a pair of Ohio Valley Conference matches this weekend.

On Friday, the Eagles host Eastern Illinois (5-11-0; 3-4-0) for a 6 p.m. ET kick-off, and Sunday’s match features SIU Edwardsville (7-5-2; 4-2-1) at 1 p.m. Sunday’s match will serve as Senior Day for the Eagles.

Live stats will be available for both matches at www.MSUEagles.com, while Sunday’s match will be streamed live on the OVC Digital Network (www.OVCDigitalNetwork.com).

MATCH NOTES

• Morehead State enters this weekend’s matches with a 1-11-2 overall record and is 1-4-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Last weekend, the Eagles dropped matches at league-leader UT Martin and Southeast Missouri.

• In the 2-0 defeat at the hands of UTM, sophomore Elizabeth Tresnak and freshman Macy Kootz led the Eagles with two shots, while freshman Elizabeth Floyd registered two saves.

• At SEMO, sophomore Elizabeth McSparin led MSU with three shots and the lone goal. Sophomore Paige Weber had the assist, while fellow sophomore Holly Tilley also managed three shots.

• Freshman Kimberly Golden is the Eagles’ current point leader with five (2g, 1a), while McSparin and sophomore Macy Cobb also have two goals in 2012.

• The Eagles have 11 goals from eight different players this season, and five assists from five different players.

• In goal, Floyd is 1-8-2 and has 44 saves in 119 shots faced and a 1.56 goals against average.

• Up next, the Eagles will stay at Jayne Stadium for a 7 p.m. ET match with Austin Peay (Oct. 26), before traveling to Murray State (Oct. 28) for their last regular season match.
