MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State soccer team is set for two Ohio Valley Conference matches this weekend. The Eagles visit Tennessee Tech on Friday at 4 p.m. ET before returning to Jayne Stadium to host Belmont on Sunday at 1 p.m.
MSU NOTES
• Junior forward
Jade Flory was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week and College Sports Madness OVC Player of the Week following her performances in a 3-2 come-from-behind victory at Austin Peay and a 1-0 decision over Murray State last weekend. Flory scored three goals for MSU last week, including two that proved to be game winners. She tied the match with the Lady Govs in the 58th minute, while the winner came with just 17 seconds remaining. Her 57th minute goal versus Murray State was her 10th of the season, which is tied for fourth in MSU single-season history. The Chambersburg, Pa., native leads the league in game-winning goals (four), is tied for the league lead with five assists and ranks second in the OVC in goals scored.
• MSU is currently riding a three-match winning streak. The last streak of more than two victories came in 2011, when the Eagles won five straight, before falling in the OVC Tournament championship match.
• The Eagles moved into the NCAA record book following the 5-2 victory over Southeast Missouri. Three MSU goals that came in 1:18 are the third fastest consectutive goals by one team in NCAA history and the fastest in OVC history.
PREVIEWING TENNESSEE TECH & BELMONT
• Tennessee Tech enters play coming off a pair of one-goal losses. The Golden Eagles dropped a 2-1 overtime double overtime decision versus UT Martin and had a 1-0 setback at Southeast Missouri. Tech has dropped seven matches by a one goal margin.
• Ellie Laciofano leads the Tech offensive attack with four goals and four assists. The Golden Eagles are tied for last in the OVC with 12 goals.
• Belmont enters the weekend having lost three of its last four matches, including a 2-1 overtime loss at Southeast Missouri and a 2-1 setback at UT Martin.
• Seven different Bruins have scored multiple goals this season. Allie Hicks and Alison Allcot lead the way with three apiece.
