Jaime Gordon is a three-time OVC Coach of the Year (2003, 2010, 2012) and was the American Volleyball Coaches Association Midwest Region Coach of the Year last season ... MSU owned the nation's longest winning streak at 24 matches in 2012 ... The Eagles were picked to finish second in the league's East Division in a vote by head coaches and sports information personnel.
Series Records
Morehead State has never faced Saint Louis. The Eagles lead the all-time series with IUPUI, 3-0. MSU has faced Montana State twice but has fallen both times.
Title Town
In 2012, Morehead State became just the second program in league history (since the conference went away from divisions in 1988) to win three straight championships. Southeast Missouri owns the best streak at five, and the MSU teams in 1988, 1989 and 1990 ran off three consecutive titles as well. MSU has now won 11 league titles.
Awards Aplenty
Senior libero
Leslie Schellhaas earned the OVC's first Defensive Player of the Week honor in 2013 following her weekend at Cincinnati. It was her third career league weekly honor. She averaged 5.31 digs per set and had a .977 receiving percentage. Senior outside hitter
Aryn Bohannon was named to the all-tournament team at the UC Invitational.
Tenacious D
Morehead State leads the OVC in opponent hitting perentage, allowing its four foes to hit just .146. MSU has led the conference in that category for three consecutive seasons.
An Ace in the Hole
Aryn Bohannon needs just 19 service aces to move into the MSU career top ten. Bohannon led the OVC with 44 solo winners last year and has 140 for her career. She ranks second on the team with 43 kills in 2013.
Triple-Double!...Almost
Junior setter
Colbey Cameron started for the first time in her career last weekend and nearly had two triple-doubles. She started the year with 43 assists, 14 digs and eight kills against Tennessee and ended with a 47-assist, 11-dig, eight-kill effort against Cincinnati. She also hit .286 in the trio of contests.
Helping Hands
Colbey Cameron ranks second in the conference in assists per set at 10.12. Morehead State is tied for the conference lead in team assists per set at 12.75.
Digging It
Senior libero
Leslie Schellhaas owns the top two season dig totals in program history, scooping a school-record 641 balls as a sophomore in 2011 and 619 last year as a junior. She currently has 1,631 career digs following two 25-plus totals last weekend in Cincinnati.
A Tall Order
At 6-foot-5, junior
Alex Fitzmorris is the tallest player in program history, topping a couple of former players who were 6-foot-4. Fitzmorris, a transfer from Boston College, sat out last season as a redshirt. The right side hitter began her career at Arkansas. Fitzmorris led the team in kills for the second time in her career with 10 versus Marshall. She also hit .316 in the match.
The Go-To Player
Sophomore outside hitter
Courtney Smith leads MSU in kills (45) and total attacks (152). Smith has a pair of double-doubles, garnering double digits in kills and digs against Tennessee and Cincinnati.
She's Consistent
Senior defensive specialist
Lindsey Roth has compiled 232 digs two straight years. The Louisville, Ky., native has more than 500 digs for her career. Roth also ranked second on the team with 37 service aces last season.
