Timm, Wilson, Palmateer claim All-OVC Soccer honors

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Three players from the Morehead State soccer team received All-OVC honors.
 
Freshman forward Abby Timm, a native of Byron, Ill., has been tabbed as the OVC Freshman of the Year. She was also named to the All-OVC First Team and to the All-Newcomer Team. Timm posted nine goals and four assists on the year and started 10 of 20 matches. Three times this season she netted multiple goals.
 
Fellow freshman Dani Wilson claimed All-OVC Second Team honors and was named to the All-Newcomber Team. The Elizabethtown, Ky. native started 20 of 21 games, accumulating eight goals and a team-high six assists.
 
Senior defender Teig Palmateer was also named to the All-OVC Second Team. Hailing from Mokena, Ill., Palmateer played in every match this season and started every conference match. She accumalted over 1,500 minutes and scored one goal. Her lone goal came on a highligh-reel free kick as she scorched the ball from 25 yards out against UT Martin in the quarterfinals of the OVC tournament.
 
Morehead State will compete in the semifinals of the OVC tournament at 3 p.m. ET on Friday against No. 1 seed Murray State.
