MOREHEAD, Ky.— Morehead State women's basketball ends the home portion of the non-conference schedule on Monday at 6 p.m. when they take on Alabama A&M at Johnson Arena.
 
The Eagles (5-7) are coming off an 83-77 win against Kennesaw State, where freshman guard 
Miranda Crockett collected her third double-double of the season. With the win, MSU has won two of their last four games, including a road win against Lipscomb. Following the matchup with the Lady Bulldogs, MSU takes flight for their final non-conference game of the season against UC Santa Barbara on Monday, Dec. 28.
 
All seven of Alabama A&M's (1-7) losses have been by double digits and their lone win came against Division II Tuskegee University. Senior forward Janie Myles, who was named to the preseason All-SWAC second team, leads the team with 13 points and seven rebounds per game. Alabama A&M has never faced Morehead State. Since 2010, they are 4-11 against OVC opponents.
 
The contest will be available online on the OVC Digital Network. It will also broadcast on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with Jason Blanton calling all of the action. HIGH PERCENTAGE EQUALS WINSAs a team, the Eagles are shooting 40 percent from the floor. When they meet their season percentage or better, MSU is 5-1.

Shay Steele is seventh in the nation with 30 blocks. MSU tied a school record and an OVC record with 16 blocks in the win over Mount St. Joseph on 11/23.
 
ATTACK THE BOARDSThe Eagles rank second in the country with 580 rebounds and fifth in rebounds per game with 48.3. MSU is also averaging 19 offensive rebounds per game, making them the sixth best offensive rebounding team in the nation.
 
STARTING CONSISTENCYThe Eagles have had the same starting five for every game this season with 
Miranda Crockett, Aaliyah Wells, Natalie Greenwell, Eriel Mckee, and Shay Steele. All five starters are averaging double digit points per game.
 
TAKE THE BALL AWAYMSU ranks sixth nationally with 139 steals and is 19th in steals per game with 11.6. Sophomore forward 
Eriel McKee is second in the nation with 45 steals and ranks fourth with 3.75 steals per game.
 
FORCING MISCUESWith 21.6 forced turnovers per game, the Eagles rank 19th in the nation. In seven of the 12 contests, the Eagles have forced 20 or more turnovers.
 
FIRST MATCUP WITH ALABAMA A&MThe Eagles and Lady Bulldogs have not met in a prior contest. Alabama A&M is 2-9 against teams from Kentucky since 2010, and over the same time span, the Lady Bulldogs are 4-11 against OVC opponents. The last win came in 2014 against Murray State.
