MOREHEAD, Ky.-- Â After a four-game, two-week stretch on the road, the Morehead State soccer team settles in for a 1 p.m. matchup against Ball State on Sunday at Jayne Stadium during Family Weekend. Fans who bring their ticket stub from Saturday's football game against Kentucky Christian will receive $1 tickets for Sunday's match.
Â
During the four-game road stretch, MSU went 1-2-1 but it was the latter part of the trip where the offense started to click. The Eagles scored seven goals in their final two games of the trip with many highlights. Freshman forward
Abby Timm led the way with two goals, her second and third on the season, while freshman forward
Dani Wilson dished out two assists, and junior forward
Lauren Duffy registered her first collegiate goal.
Â
"We have to keep emphasizing to go for it and attack the back four," said Head Coach
Warren Lipka. "We have the players and the athletes to do it, we just have to mentally be strong and develop the confidence in ourselves to keep going."
Â
MSU welcomes in Ball State, one of the final two non-conference opponents left on its schedule. The final non-conference game is on October 1
st at Louisville. According to Lipka, these non-conference opponents have prepared his team for the OVC portion of the schedule.
Â
"We got some wins under our belt and we've achieved what we wanted to do before we enter conference play," said Lipka. "I think Sunday's game will be another challenge for us before we go into OVC play next week."
Â
Sunday's game will broadcast live on the
