LEASHER'S GAME-BY-GAME STATS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Following his first career complete-game shutout, Morehead State sophomore lefthander
Aaron Leasher has been voted Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Leasher held Belmont to only three hits and struck out a career-best 12 on Saturday in a 9-0 Eagle win to clinch a series victory. It marked the first MSU shutout at Allen Field in more than 10 seasons. Leasher, from Mt. Pleasant, Mich., lowered his team-best (for starters) earned run average to 2.36 and improved to 3-0.
Only two Belmont baserunners advanced as far as second base. In all four of his starting assignments in 2016, Leasher has recorded at least seven strikeouts.
Morehead State hosts Miami (Ohio) Tuesday and Marshall on Wednesday. Both games feature 4 p.m. ET start times.
