MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State soccer team is set to host the first of three-straight games at Jayne Stadium on Sunday when it welcomes Ohio Valley Conference counterpart Austin Peay on Sunday.

The Eagles are currently 2-11 overall and 1-4 in OVC. Despite the record, Morehead State is coming off its' highest-scoring game of the season after pouring in three goals in a comeback effort that saw the team fall 4-3 in overtime to conference rival Eastern Kentucky

Senior forward
Dani Wilson netted two goals in that contest, including the equalizing goal with under a minute remaining in regulation. Wilson drives the Eagles' offense, leading the team in goals (5), shots (30), and shots on goal (20). The senior from Elizabethtown, Ky., is currently ranked 13th nationally for her .667 shot accuracy percentage.

The Governors enter the weekend with a 7-4-1 overall record and are 2-2-1 in conference play. They will travel to Eastern Kentucky on Friday before facing Morehead State.

Like the Eagles, Austin Peay has a player their offense primarily runs through in sophomore midfielder Claire Larose. Larose has netted seven goals on 40 shots attempts in for the Governors in 2018.

The match between Morehead State and Austin Peay will serve as Residence Hall Day and Youth Soccer Day.

For Residence Hall Day, the first 50 students who reside on campus will be given a free Morehead State soccer scarf.

As a part of Youth Soccer Day, any children who play soccer are encouraged to come to Jayne Stadium wearing their soccer jersey. Children wearing their youth jerseys will receive free admission and be invited onto the field postgame for a free clinic with instruction from players and coaches.

"Our girls and staff really love having the opportunity to have the kids come out and support us and then us give back to them by giving some instruction to them," said head coach

The match will get underway at 2:00 p.m. ET. Tickets will be available at the Jayne Stadium public entrance gate. Fans with the #OneTownOneTeam Rowan County Public Library card will receive a discounted ticket for $2.00. A live stream of the match will also be available on the OVC Digital Network.
