Hensley Claims Top-10 Finish as Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Edisto Island

RESULTS

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Backed by a pair of strong performances, Morehead State women's golf finished sixth at the Edisto Island Invitational. 
 
The team carded rounds of 296-292-298—886 throughout the three-day event. 
 
Olivia Hensley led the Eagles after fashioning rounds of 74-70-71—215, finishing sixth overall. Hensley also led the team in par 4s throughout the tournament, firing an average score of 4.03. 
 
Freshman Ruth Tonnessen notched her second top-20 finish of the year, firing rounds of 73-73-74—220. Tonnessen paced the squad with 41 pars over the course of the tournament, good for second best overall, and shined on par 5s, where she shot an average of three under par. 
 
Fellow Norwegian Tuva Marie Isebakke was also strong on par 5s, posting a one under par average and finishing the tournament with a 76-74-81—231. 
 
Senior Hailey Rietz saved her best performance for the final day, putting together a round of 72 that propelled her 12 spots up the leaderboard. 
 
MacKenzie Neal fashioned rounds of 73-75-83—231 and competing as an individual, Hanna Montgomery shot a 89-80-89—258. 
 
The Eagles return to the links Oct. 31 at the Mercer Invitational. The two-day tournament tees off from the Brickyard Golf Club in Macon, Ga.
