MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a four game road trip that saw Morehead State take on tough competition from numerous conferences around the country, women's basketball returns to Johnson Arena for their season opener against Spalding (Ky.) Tuesday.
The Eagles are looking to bounce back after a loss at East Tennessee State Sunday afternoon.
Sophie Benharouga led the team with nine points, closely followed by
Aina Subirats, who posted a career-high eight points, including two baskets from beyond the arc. A bright spot for the team was once again their bench scoring, as the reserves scored 28 points in the matchup.
Tuesday's game is the first time the two opponents will be meeting despite being only a two hour drive away. Natalie Fichter is leading the Golden Eagles, averaging 11 points per game.
Tip-off is slated for 5:00 PM and can be found on ESPN+ or listened to on the Eagle Sports Radio Network.
