MOREHEAD, Ky. – Women's hoops heads to the Sunshine State Monday to open their 2022-23 campaign against the South Florida Bulls.
This will be the first time in program history the two teams are meeting and is only the third AAC school Morehead State has ever competed against, after Cincinnati and East Carolina. The Eagles are 10-9 all-time against AAC competition.
In their lone exhibition game, the Eagles were led by
Veronica Charles, who had 13 points, four assists, and seven steals, while
Sophie Benharouga added 11 points off the bench and

The Eagles flexed their muscles on both ends of the floor, forcing Virginia-Wise into 32 turnovers and collecting 18 offensive rebounds in the game, including sophomore
Janay Rose who pulled down three offensive boards for eight second chance points.
South Florida comes off a season that saw them go 24-9, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as a 9 seed, where they fell in the first round to the 8th seeded Miami.
