Women's Golf Inks Shelby County Standout Isabella Wiley

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Following an exceptional high school career, Isabella Wiley will continue her academic and athletic career at Morehead State, inking with the 2022-23 women's golf signing class.

"Isabella Wiley is another strong addition to our program who excels in the classroom, community, and golf course," head coach Stephanie Barker said.

Hailing from Bagdad, Ky., the Shelby County native is a six-time KHSAA State Tournament Qualifier, was named 1st Team All-State by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association three times, was a four-time KHSAA 1st Team All-Region honoree, and was named Bluegrass Golf Tour Player of the Year in 2019, as well as Regional Player of the Year in both 2021 and 2022.

Wiley's illustrious career saw notable finishes, including a runner-up finish in the First Round of the KHSAA State Tournament this season, as well as claiming second place in 2021 at the KGCA All-State Championship.  

In addition to her success at Shelby County High School, Wiley shined on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, picking up eight top-5 finishes, including victories at the KY Spring Junior Open (2021, 2022), the Savannah Junior Open (2022), and the Knoxville Fall Junior Open (2021). Wiley was also a Golfweek Junior Tour Champion after coming out on top in a playoff to take the UK Club Tournament title (2022).

Off the course, Wiley is an honors student and has been a member of student council, Kentucky HOSA, National Honor Society, Shelby Young Leaders, as well as an active member of the Bagdad Baptist Church.

"We are excited she has decided to be an Eagle and look forward to her continued success and development," Barker added.
