MOREHEAD, Ky. ā Men's golf received a mix of shining performances from newcomers and veterans alike as they wrapped up the Joe Feaganes Invitational Tuesday, finishing 10th.
Competing as an individual, freshman
Logan McCormick led the Eagles after firing rounds of 70-75-70ā215. The Mount Sterling native tied for 17th in the field and had the lowest par 4 scoring average amongst the team.
Cameron Travis also put in a top-30 performance, fashioning rounds of 70-75-72ā217. Travis also led the field in par 3 scoring average, shooting three under par on the short range holes.
Senior
Blake Evans improved on last season's performance at the event by six strokes, shooting a 74-73-71ā218. Evans lowered his score every round, finishing the tournament with an even par round.
Brody Webb tied for the lowest individual round of any Eagle in his opening round, while freshman
Logan Liles faced first round difficulties, but fashioned 34 pars over the course of the tournament to end his inaugural collegiate event strong.
Nolan Piazza was second on the team in birdies with eight and fellow Canadian
Nolan Pierce had the second most pars with 35.
The Eagles return to the course next week at the Grover Page Classic. The two-day tournament tees off from the Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn.
