Women's Golf Looks to Defend Title at Briar Ridge Invitational

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Looking to defend their title from last season, women's golf returns to stroke play at the Briar Ridge Invitational.

Last year, the Eagles went into the final round of the event down by ten strokes, but rallied to leap atop the leaderboard on the final day. MacKenzie Neal and Olivia Hensley led the team with top-10 finishes. The victory was the only first place finish in a stroke play event for the Eagles last season.

MacKenzie Neal, who was named OVC Women's Golfer of the Week for her efforts at Caledonia, will head the lineup once again. At the Golfweek Challenge, Neal fired the lowest round of her collegiate career en route to a top-15 finish.

Head coach Stephanie Barker also employs a lineup of Hailey Rietz, Olivia Hensley, Ruth Tonnessen and Tuva Marie Isebakke. The team fashioned rounds of 297-288-296—881 throughout last week's event.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament tees off Sunday from the Briar Ridge Country Club in Schererville, Ind.
