MOREHEAD, Ky. -- South African Ineke Brynard will be joining the Morehead State women's golf program, inking her National Letter of Intent.
From Stellenbosch in South Africa, she is the No. 7-ranked junior player in that country.
"Ineke Brynard is an experienced and driven amateur who is highly recommended by her coaches and educators. I am impressed with the fact that Ineke has been a top-ranked junior in South Africa for the last three years, and most recently has moved up to a South Africa junior ranking of seventh," said head coach
Stephanie Barker. "Her game is well-rounded and is trending in the right direction. She has solid fundamentals and is a very steady player who is used to competing in a variety of weather conditions. Most importantly, all of Ineke's references are quick to recommend her as a diligent and friendly teammate who is a wonderful leader. The team and I are excited to welcome Ineke to our program."
In 2023, Brynard finished tied for first in the WP Provincial Women's Amateur Championship and finished fifth in the SA Women's Amateur Match Play Championship. She ranked as the No. 1 senior and junior in Boland Ladies Golf Union and won the Boland Ceres Open and Junior Championship. She was selected as captain for the Boland U19 ladies' team.
In 2022, she ranked in the top 10 for juniors in South Africa as well as being the No. 1 junior in Boland Ladies Golf Union. Brynard ranked as the No. 2 Senior in Boland Ladies Golf Union. She was selected for the Senior Boland Ladies 72 Holes team and for the Senior Boland Ladies IPT team. Brynard won the Rhenish Girl's High prize for the best achievement in golf and was the De Zalze Ladies club champion.
