MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a stellar effort at the Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate,
Nolan Piazza has been tabbed OVC Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday.
Piazza, who claimed his third career top-5 finish of the season, fired rounds of 70-73-70—213 throughout the event. The sophomore saw success on par 5 scoring, finishing tied for second in the tournament with a 4.33 scoring average, including carding an eagle on the par 5 seventh hole in round two.
The Canadian native also led the team in par 4 scoring, where he averaged 4.10, led the team in total pars for the tournament with 35 and was tied for the team lead in both birdies (10) and eagles (1).
Piazza is currently sixth in the conference in scoring average through 18 rounds, averaging rounds of 72.3.
Piazza and the Eagles return to the links March 6-7 at the Daytona Beach Spring Invitational.
