MOREHEAD Ky. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball is excited to gets its 2023 season kicked off this weekend. The Eagles will face Liberty, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky as part of a round robin tournament at Grand Sands in Loveland, Ohio. MSU will face Liberty on Saturday and Sunday, APSU Saturday and eKU on Sunday.
Morehead State was 12-11 in 2022 under head coach
Kyrsten Becker-McBride. MSU reached the title match of the OVC Tournament, and the Eagles have been forecasted for a third place showing in 2023 - in the poll of the league's head coaches.
In addition, three Eagles have been tabbed to the league's preseason top-10 "players to watch" list. Senior
Trinity Miller was chosen second on the list. The Fairfield, Ohio native was 11-12 in 2022, including 6-3 at No. 4.
Senior
Anya Reinhard, who went 3-1 at No. 3 with Miller, was tabbed fourth best player. She had a 7-6 mark at No. 3 in 2022. Senior
Abby Hulsman rounded out MSU's players on the preseason list at No. 7. She had a 14-9 record last spring, including 6-3 at No. 4 with Miller.Â
Other returnees who saw time in the lineup include senior
