NOTABLE
- Morehead State is averaging nearly seven runs per game through 28 contests this season at 6.75. In their 16 wins, the Eagles are averaging 9.18 runs per game.Â
- Morehead State's middle infield combined for 11 RBI in the 15-2 rout of Ohio on Tuesday. Nick Gooden drove in six runs (a career-high), becoming the first Eagle to do so since Braxton Morris in May of 2018. Colton Becker came into the contest without a home run this season, but had a pair of round-trippers and drove in five runs. His five RBI effort was the fourth time this season an Eagle has driven in five or more runs, joining Gooden and Ryley Preece (who has accomplished the feat twice).
- Speaking of Ryley Preece, the Eagles' leadoff man and centerfielder took home his third career OVC Player of the Week award on Monday after a fantastic showing last week. Preece went 10-15, hitting three home runs on Sunday and driving in 11 of Morehead State's 26 runs in the series win over Tennessee Tech. Preece posted his fourth multi-hit game in his last five on Tuesday, and is riding a six game hitting streak. He leads both the team and the OVC in home runs with 12, and ranks in the top 50 nationally in the category.Â
- Jackson Feltner drew four walks against Ohio on Tuesday, the first Eagle to do so since Chase Vinson in 2022. Feltner leads the team in batting average with a .385 mark this season.Â
- Roman Kuntz found his stride on Tuesday, driving in three runs for Morehead State. The junior is tied for third on the team in RBI with 22.Â
- Grant Herron leads the Eagle pitching staff in strikeouts this season, with a total of 41.Â
- Riley Bradshaw will be making his first weekend start for the Eagles after starting a pair of mid-week contests this season. He notched his first career save in the series-clinching win over Tennessee Tech, getting the final out to down the Golden Eagles 4-3.Â
- Matt Bettio has been solid in relief this season for Morehead State and has not allowed a run in his last four appearances.Â
