MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball has been looking forward to its trip to California since the schedule was finalized several months ago, and now its here. The Eagles are in the Golden State for six matches this week.
MSU starts the trip with a doubleheader at the Number 1 team in the nation, UCLA, on Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET. The Eagles will also play against Concordia-Irvine at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
After a couple of off days, the Eagles will head to Malibu for the Malibu Invite hosted by Pepperdine. MSU faces the host school and Texas-El Paso on Friday, followed by duals against Sacramento State and Cal State-Northridge on Saturday.
Morehead State actually enters the week with the best record of all the six teams it will face. The Eagles are 6-0 in 2025, the second best start in program history. At No. 3,
Sarah Heath has a perfect 6-0 record in her first season as an Eagle.
Peighton Isley also has not been beaten yet this year, sitting at 5-0 at Nos. two and three.
Concordia-Irvine, a Division II school, is 8-5 in 2025. CUI has received votes in the top 25 polls this season. UCLA sports a 13-1 record in 2025. Ten of the Bruins' 13 wins have come against teams also ranked in the top 25.
Pepperdine enters its own tournament with a 2-6 record. UTEP, whoch competes in Conference USA, sits at 6-4 this spring. Sacramento State is 4-5, while CSUN is at 5-7.Â
The trip represents a homecoming of sorts for three Eagles whose hometowns are in California.
