MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Men's Basketball is excited to add Tamaury Releford, a 6-9 center transferring from West Georgia.

A native of Forth Smith, Ark., Releford started his career in junior college at Connors State in Oklahoma.

"Tamaury has everything we look for in a big man," said Head Coach Jonathan Mattox. "He's got size, length, and skill. He is an efficient offensive player, who can also defend and rebound. Tamaury gives us the interior presence we need."

Releford played in more than 60 games in two seasons at West Georgia, which recently made the move to Division I. In 2024-25, he played in 30 games and averaged 7.2 points and shot 57 percent from the field. He also averaged 4.5 rebounds and blocked 28 shots.

In 2023-24, he produced 5.8 points and 4.7 rebounds. Off the bench, he shot 61 percent.

At Connors State, he averaged a double-double, pumping in 12.3 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. Releford had 15 double-doubles that season.

Releford played at Fayetteville (Ark.) High School and Northside High School. He earned the MVP of the Arkansas State Tournament and was named the Northwest Arkansas Conference MVP during his senior season.
