MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Beach volleyball season is here. Morehead State's team will open the 2026 campaign with a five-team event at Grand Sands in Ohio as the Eagles face Liberty, Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky and Tusculum (Tenn.). Action takes place Friday and Saturday on the indoor courts at Grand Sands in Loveland.
Morehead State is coming off a 14-12 season in 2025 where the Eagles finished 7-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Several talented student-athletes return to grace the 2026 version of the "Beagles".
Headlining the returners is junior
Bella Marita, who earned All-OVC in 2025. Also back is lineup regulars
M.E. Hargan,
Sarah Heath,
Shea Hefner,
Hollan Everett (2025 OVC All-Freshman Team),
Amelia Nott and
Courtney Fitzgerald.
Three others who saw limited action in the lineup include
Lily-Kate Carver,
Landyn Snowden and
Kaitlin Powell. Among the others returning to the roster are
Logan Smith,
Bailey Brashear,
Sydney Sennett and
Tinsley Brown.
Newcomers slated to battle for action are transfers
Cady Hatch and
Haylee DePonte along with freshmen
Addie Freed,
Kylie Sharp,
Kennedy Tinch and
Riley McCloskey.
MSU's schedule features tournaments at Coastal Carolina and Eastern Kentucky, road duals at College of Charleston and Wingate (N.C.), two OVC weekends and a neutral site OVC double dual against league foe Tennessee Tech near Knoxville, Tenn. The OVC Championships are at Chattanooga this season on April 23-25.
