Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State was held to just three hits and the Lindenwood bats came alive as the Lions downed the Eagles 15-2 in seven innings Saturday at Allen Field in Prefontaine Park.

Morehead State (18-20, 5-9 OVC) scored two runs on back-to-back leadoff solo home runs by
Nick Griffith and
Brayton Coomer. Griffith's was his fifth of the season, a shot over the screen in right center. Coomer's drive, his third of the season, cleared the screen in straightaway center field.

Lindenwood (20-18, 7-7 OVC) piled up an early lead in the top of the third. The Lions homered twice and added a double and two singles. The Lions added two more runs in the fourth and broke it open, scoring five runs in the sixth. LU added two run in the top of the seventh for the final tally.

Lindenwood starter Seth Benes (3-3) went the distance allowing only one other hit in the game, a long single off the screen in center field in the seventh. The only other baserunner he allowed was
Ian McCubbin, who he hit with a pitch in the seventh. He also recorded five strikeouts.

Kamden Hawks (2-5) took the loss. He got one out in the fourth.
