4/25/2026 11:30:00 AM

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Seamus Bogan has been named to the All-OVC Second Team, the conference announced Saturday.

Sophomore Seamus Bogan has put on a clinic for Morehead State this season. With the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament still to play, Bogan has already placed top-10 five times this season. Bogan's best performance came from the Jackrabbit Invitational back in early March.

Bogan finished first (out of 72 individuals) in the Jackrabbit Invitational, shooting 12 under par. Bogan's first place finish is the first time an Eagle has finished first since Joe Muschong won the OVC Championship in 2022. Bogan's score of 12 under par is the second best performance in the past 15 years, the best since Logan Hogge shot 14 under par in the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in 2014. In the tournament, Bogan put together a top-5 round in the past 15 years of Morehead State golf, shooting six under par in the first round and leading the tournament from the very beginning. He finished first in total birdies during the tournament with 16. He also finished tied for first in par-4 scoring average and tied for second in par-3 scoring average.

"Seamus earned this honor throughout the year, but especially over the spring with his win at Boulder Creek and multiple Top 10 finishes", said Head Coach Matthew Martin. "It has been fun to see his confidence continue to grow and I am excited to see how he competes this week, along with the rest of our team."

Outside of the Jackrabbit Invitational, Bogan had multiple other highlights worthy of mentioning. Bogan shot five under in the Derek-Dolenc Invitational, helping aid the Eagles to a record breaking score of 834 (-19), the best score in Morehead State Men's Golf history for a 54-hole tournament. Bogan shot four under and catapulted 15 spots to finish top-10 and grab the title of "highest riser" in the Compadres Collegiate. He also finished tied for 7th in the Savannah Intercollegiate three weeks later. Finally, Bogan helped aid the Eagles to their first tournament victory since October of 2023, in the Keene Trace Collegiate. His tied-10th finish in the Keene Trace Collegiate was his fourth straight top-10 finish.

Bogan was named February's OVC Golfer of the Month, as well as two OVC Golfer of the Week nods throughout the season. He leads the Eagles in scoring average with an average of 72.8.

Seamus Bogan and the Eagles will be competing for an OVC Title at Ackerman-Allen Course on the campus of Purdue University, Apr. 26-29.
