Volleyball to Host Lindenwood to Open Conference Play

Morehead, Ky.-- The Morehead State volleyball team opens Ohio Valley Conference play when it hosts Lindenwood this weekend in Ellis T. Johnson Arena.   
 
This weekend's opponent also marks the third-straight weekend of the Eagles facing a high-powered offense. Two weeks ago, the Eagles faced the most efficient offense in the country: Michigan State leads the country with a .345 hitting percentage. Last weekend's opponent, Marshall, ranks 12th in the country averaging 14.29 kills per set. Lindenwood leads the OVC in kills and hitting percentage heading into the conference opener.
 
Friday's first serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET. Saturday's start is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET. Both matches will be aired on ESPN+.

NOTABLES
 
  • Morehead State ranks fourth in the OVC heading into the first conference weekend of play with 426 kills (11.83 kills per set). The Eagles rank third in the conference with a .192 attack efficiency. MSU ranks fifth in the OVC allowing a .238 opponent hitting percentage.
  • The Eagles topped the OVC in 2025 with 193 service aces averaging 1.80 aces per set. Amelia Nott smacked 44 aces, averaging 0.41 aces per set. She ranked third in the OVC last fall, and her career tally of 127 service aces is the second-most in program history in the modern era.
  • Heading into the weekend, the Eagles are fourth in the OVC with 58 aces on the season, averaging 1.61 aces per set. Freshman Ella Warrick leads the Eagles and ranks second in the OVC with 16 service aces.
  • Morehead State leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 70.5 total team blocks, averaging 1.96 blocks per set. Freshman Haidyn Carter leads the Eagles and ranks fifth in the OVC with 31 total blocks averaging 0.86 blocks per set. Nott ranks eighth in the OVC with 30 total blocks averaging 0.83 blocks per set.
  • Senior pin Hollan Everett leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 128 kills heading into the weekend, averaging 3.88 kills per set. Last season, Everett was a Second-Team All-OVC selection after smacking 335 kills while posting a .213 hitting percentage and adding 62 total blocks, including 21 block solos.
  • Everett was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week on September 7th for her play in the Mercyhurst Invitational Labor Day weekend. She capped the weekend slamming 21 kills (one shy of her career high). Everett slammed 50 kills and added eight total blocks on the weekend. She has finished with double-digit kills in eight of the nine games she has played this season.
  • Senior setter Sydney Sennett was an All-OVC First Team selection last season after posting 1,089 assists in the 2025 campaign, which ranks as the eighth-highest season total in the modern era at MSU. Her 10.18 assists per set rate ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference.
  • Sennett has 2,216 career assists, which ranks fifth in program history for the modern, 25-point rally scoring era. Her 5.39 assists per set rate ranks sixth in the OVC.
  • Senior Amelia Nott has smacked 99 kills this season, averaging 2.75 kills per set. She has posted a .329 hitting percentage, which ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference.
  • Freshman Ella Warrick has slammed 103 kills to date, averaging 2.86 kills per set, which ranks second on the club.
  • Ella Warrick made an immediate splash in her first month at Morehead State: she was named the OVC Rookie of the Week September 7 for her play at the Mercyhurst Invitational. In the Eagles' three matches, Warrick smacked 34 kills, tallied 30 digs, and posted nine service aces. She capped the weekend by setting a career-high with 15 kills, posting her fourth career double-double with 12 digs.
  • Freshman Haiden Carter also made an impression in her Eagle debut: in the season opener against Fairfield, she led MSU with five total blocks and added seven kills with a .375 attack efficiency. In the opening weekend finale against Colgate, she again led MSU with five total blocks. She eclipsed that season-high last Saturday when she posted six total blocks against Marshall.
  • Senior Courtney Fitzgerald joined the 1,000-dig club in the opening weekend of the season against Fairfield. She became the 30th Eagle to amass over 1,000 digs. Heading into play this week, she ranks sixth MSU record book in the modern era with 1,115 digs.
 
 
SCOUTING THE LIONS
 
  • Lindenwood is coached by Will Condon, who is in his 10th season in St. Charles. Heading into the weekend, Condon has a record of 144-125 as the Lions' mentor. Prior to his arrival in St. Charles, he spent nine seasons as the head coach at Armstrong State; prior to that he was the bench boss at USC Aiken for eight seasons. Condon's career record is 546-273.
  • Lindenwood is leading the OVC statistically in kills (610, 13.86 kills per set), hitting percentage (.259) and assists (559, 12.70 assists per set). The Lions rank second statistically in opponent hitting percentage (.186) and digs (631, 14.34 digs per set).
  • Lindenwood ranks third in the OVC with 74 service aces (1.68 aces per set). Senior defensive specialist Alayna Rudebeck ranks seventh in the OVC with 15 aces (0.34 aces per set)
  • Senior Susanna Beretti leads Lindenwood with 142 kills this season, averaging 3.23 kills per set, and is one of a trio of Lions who statistically rank in the top-10 in kills, ranking seventh. She also ranks eighth in the conference with a .263 hitting percentage.
  • Beretti, a native of Milan, Italy, spent the last three seasons at Division II Qunicy (Ill.). She was a two-time First Team All-GLVC selection at Quincy, and last season was named a Division II Collegiate Coaches Association Second Team All-American. She tallied 534 kills, third-most in the nation.
  • Junior opposite Autumn Bax ranks eighth in the OVC with 133 kills (3.02 kills per set) and ranks fifth with a .305 hitting percentage. She was a First Team All-OVC selection last season and in 2023 she was OVC Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-OVC selection.
  • Freshman Lauren Ortwerth has smacked 128 kills heading into conference play, averaging 2.91 kills per set, ranking ninth in the OVC. Her .265 attack efficiency ranks seventh in the OVC.
 
EAGLE MILESTONE WATCH
 
  • Hollan Everett is 31 kills shy of becoming the 23rd member of the 1,000-kill club at Morehead State. With 969 career kills, she ranks eighth in the MSU record book for the modern era (2008-present). She is also 57 attacks shy of 3,000 for her career.
  • Amelia Nott has posted 285 career block assists, 15 shy of joining just six others with 300 career block assists in the MSU record book for the modern era.
