RICHMOND, Ky.—Former Morehead State men’s golfer Shawn Tipton is in third place and current MSU golfer
Jared Flanery is tied for fourth after the first round of the Kentucky Golf Association AT&T State Amateur, which was played Tuesday at Gibson Bay Golf Course.
Tipton shot a 65, one stroke behind a two-way tie for the lead to end the first round in third place. Flanery, one of seven current Eagle golfers participating in the event, shot a 67 and tied two other players at fourth place.
Alex Misback and
Crit Reddick each shot a 73 to tie for 48th.
Matt Logan carded a 75, which tied him for 83rd overall and
Alex Wright tied for 101st with a 76.
Grant Hinton’s 78 tied him for 128th overall and
Sam Zirnheld finished with an 80 to tie for 144th.
The tournament, scheduled to be completed Wednesday may have inclement weather problems delay the finish of the event.
