MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team travels to Martin, Tenn., this weekend to face UT Martin in a three-game set at Skyhawk Field.
The Eagles (7-33, 3-10 OVC) are looking for a turnaround following last weekend's sweep by visiting Austin Peay. MSU was outscored 43-18 by the Governors and the pitching staff allowed 24 runs in the game three loss.
UT Martin (16-25, 7-7 OVC) is currently riding a six-game winning streak dating back to mid-April. The SKyhawks have swept their last two opponents Eastern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky, two teams that swept the Eagles earlier this season.
Senior Trey Smith (0-9, 8.10) will face righty Dan Tobik (3-6, 4.75) in game on of the series opening doubleheader Saturday followed by a showdown between southpaw Garrick Whittle (2-3, 8.36) and junior Danny Kelley (1-5, 5.00) in the nightcap. Sunday's pitching match-up features freshman Noah Smallwood (1-5, 9.23) against senior Wes Patterson (0-4, 9.00).
