MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State freshman tennis student-athlete Briar Preston was named Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference.
The Auckland, New Zealand, native finished her first spring season at 7-7 in singles and 6-3 in doubles action. In league matches, Preston totaled a 6-4 singles mark, including a 4-1 ledger at No. 1. In doubles, she teamed with partner Victoria Cran to go 3-0 at No. 1 doubles.
She finished the season with four straight singles wins and was named OVC co-Female Athlete of the Week in the final conference report for the 2013 regular season.
Eastern Kentucky's Amandine Faouzi was named OVC Player of the Year, while SIU Edwardsville's Monique Krutak was voted Freshman of the Year. EKU leader Rob Oertel was named women's Coach of the Year.
