MARTIN, TN.—Playing in windy and cold conditions, Morehead State women's tennis battled with UT Martin but came up short in a 4-1 loss at the Skyhawk Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.

The Eagles (2-15, 2-5) suffered their third straight Ohio Valley Conference loss. The Skyhawks (9-10, 6-1) notched their fourth straight OVC victory.

Senior
Ayaka Terashi picked up only the second win against UTM at the Skyhawk Tennis Complex on the season. The only other player to accomplish the feat was Murray State's Hailey Morgan on April 1. Terashi defeated Sarah Candeloro in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the second singles match of the day.

Aleksandra Savic and freshman
Zina Mehikic had their matches go unfinished. At the time, Savic was down after the first set but was up in the second 5-3 when the match was called.

Sophomore Maria Orellena fought back-and-forth with Burcu Tari, but lost the first set 6-4 and the second set 6-3.

UTM claimed the doubles point earlier in the afternoon.

Morehead State will head to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to take on Southeast Missouri on Saturday with a 3 p.m. ET start time.
