CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.--  Morehead State women's tennis grabbed its third Ohio Valley Conference victory of the season, defeating Southeast Missouri 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Redhawk Tennis Complex.
 
The Eagles (3-15, 3-5) snapped a three-match losing streak and have recorded back-to-back victories against Southeast Missouri. The Redhawks (1-17, 0-8) have lost 16 straight matches and are winless in the OVC.
"Very proud of the girls bouncing back today, it's been a long season but we've done nothing but fight hard and continue to build," said Head Coach

Morehead State picked up the doubles point by scoring a default win in one of the three matches, followed by senior 
Ayaka Terashi and freshman 
Zina Mehikic claiming a 6-2 victory.
 
Mehikic's day continued to evolve into singles play as she picked up a three-set win against Mila Majtan. Jumping out to an early first-set victory 6-3, Mehikic dueled with her opponent in the second set, faltering 6-4. She came back to take the match with a 6-2 third-set win. The victory marks the fourth in Mehikic's last five decisions.
 
Sophomore 
Aleksandra Savic picked up her first victory in her last three matches, defeating Ana Canahuate-Torres in three sets. Torres took the first set 6-4, but Savic swung momentum in the final two sets. The comeback began with Savic snatching the second set, 6-2. The final frame went decisively to Savic with a 6-3 win.
 
Junior 
Hayley Wild knotted her first victory in the previous four matches, defeating Annisa Warasanti in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
 
The Eagles will wrap up their regular season on Friday against SIU Edwardsville and Saturday against Eastern Illinois at Sadler Courts.
