Rough day for Women's Tennis results in 7-0 loss to SIUE

Box Score

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State women's tennis lost to SIU Edwardsville 7-0 at Sadler Courts on Friday afternoon.

With the loss, the Eagles (3-16, 3-6) have been eliminated from an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance. The Cougars (16-4, 8-1) have won eight straight OVC matches and sit atop the standings.

"There's no quit in this team," said Head Coach Kevin Fulton. "They will be ready to play tomorrow. Today was a tough one to take, but we will go back to the drawing board in the morning and be ready to play."

Senior Ayaka Terashi competed in her next to last match for Morehead State, falling in straight sets 7-5, 6-2.

Freshman Zina Mehikic continues to be a nuisance inside the OVC. She fought with Mia Frogner in the first and second sets, but came up short in both.

The season will conclude as the Eagles welcome Eastern Illinois to Sadler Courts on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.
