Senior Brooke Helms
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State women's tennis team secured its second Ohio Valley Conference victory with a 7-0 decision over visiting Southeast Missouri on Sunday at Sadler Courts.

The Eagles improve to 3-15 overall and 2-6 in the league. The Redhawks fall to 3-10 overall and are still searching for their first conference win this year.

SEMO travelled just four players, and MSU won the only two doubles matches that were played. At No. 1, senior Victoria Cran and freshman Briar Preston teamed up to beat Heather Robinson and Jessica Courtnel, 8-2. Freshmen Lissa Pacheco-Brousseau and Dominique McLean then defeated Sarah Uptmor and Lauren Schaper, 8-0.

The Eagles swept the four singles matches as well. At No. 1, Preston outlasted Robinson 6-2, 5-7 (10-3 tiebreaker). On court two, Cran dropped Courtnell 6-1, 7-5. At No. 3, Pacheco-Brousseau knocked off Uptmor 6-0, 6-1. On court four, McLean defeated Schaper 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Brooke Helms is credited with her first victory of the spring season in a win by default. She has been out all year due to injury. Freshman Sandrine Beaule also picked up a decision by default.

The Eagles return to action April 13 when they travel to conference foe SIU Edwardsville. First serve is set for 3 p.m. ET.
