Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision to Lipscomb

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Lipscomb's women's tennis team knocked off the Morehead State Eagles 5-2 Thursday at the EAGLE Center.

The Bisons improved to 6-3, while MSU dropped to 2-6.

The teams split the doubles matches, but due to MSU only suiting up five players, the Bisons grabbed the opening point with a defauLt win at No. 3. At No. 1, sophomores Sandrine Beaule and Briar Preston claimed an 8-5 win. On court two, freshmen Hayley Wild and Andrea LeBlanc fell 8-6.

The Eagles claimed singles wins at the top of the lineup. At No. 1 Preston improved to 11-3 this season with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph against Deahna Welcher. LeBlanc ousted Melissa Kromer, 6-4, 6-0 on court two.

Sierra Troxel defeated sophomore Dominique-Chante Mclean 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3, while Beaule lost a 4-6, 7-6, 10-8 marathon against Jenny Borck. Wild also lost a three-setter, falling 0-6, 6-4, 6-3 to Lorena Djuknic. Lipscomb claimed a default win at No. 6.

Morehead State returns to action Friday hosting Western Kentucky at 5 p.m. ET at the EAGLE Center.
